Hey all you blue's enthusiasts!

First and foremost I'd like to dedicate this writing to the memory of my father the late William H. (Bill) Hefelfinger dear friend mentor and loving father and my dear friends the late William (Curly Bill) Bruehl and John K. Zimmerman may they Rest In Peace!

I had moved to the Pittsburgh area for my job in January 2002, it was the next October that my father had suddenly passed, weeks later my dear friend Curly whom had retired to the Florida Keys and John Z. another close friend and mentor from my home town of Carlisle in another few weeks, all gone so suddenly! My work mission was so demanding I slipped into auto pilot, days, weeks and months flew by. Early one June 2003 morning during my daily meditation the thought came to me, I was separated from friends, loved ones, familiar faces and places. Although life in Pittsburgh was great and the folks of the Pittsburgh area are down to earth and engaging, I had an urgent sense to re-unite with someone, something familiar. The thought of my Dad, Curly and John Z. all going so suddenly hit me and drove home the fact that our next meeting could well be the last for any of us! My job had me back and forth to Harrisburg regularly for meetings so the next trip home I went to see an old friend and co-worker Bennie whom I had not seen in a while, ironically Bennie had just buried his wife Mildred and was fighting his own battle with cancer. We spoke for a while and realized we had to initiate some sort of a reunion with our old crew. The old crew, WOW! A group of friends from the early seventies some relationships dating back as far as childhood. We had played softball in the Sunday Rec. league for numerous teams over the years but most of all we shared everyday life; birthdays, christenings, weddings, holiday cookouts, general whoopee you name it we were a crew. Bennie and I went to see our Brothers Ramon and Louis (Coach) enough said their family ever ready to cook; they love to feed, share the bounty. As a matter of fact it was Ramon's son's Damon's christening back in 1977 that kicked off a string of roasts and barbeques that continue today! The word was out and our first reunion took place September of 2003; it was great although sadly enough there were folks that were not in attendance for one reason or another. The stark truth was apparent, life's dictates separate people for many reasons some good some not so good, some temporary some permanent, however the core of the crew had embraced the idea of doing it again. We started making plans for the next then sadly Bennie had lost his battle with cancer a few short months later. The realization that yes we are at an age that these losses happen with staggering frequency left us with resolve to further our mission. Lost, Found & Dearly Departed!, was born! Our mission was "to seek out those who have been placed away and out of touch and celebrate those who have been found in fond memory of those who have departed". We've had so much fun over the past few years and yes there have in fact been numerous reunions that may not have happened otherwise. AWESOME!

We've had so much fun that we decided to invite the public to come share the possibilities, music, food and fellowship, old friend's new friends WOW! The food is awesome, Louis has made his fried catfish, chicken and fresh cut fries our signature dish. The cooks or should I say the Garced family keep the fryers sizzling and the crispy coming. Louis also throw's together some great salads that'll keep you coming for more! What? Say you'd like to share your favorite desert or side too! Throw'er on the table donations welcome! THIS EVENT IS BYOB so bring your favorite beverage to wash it all down! Music; we love lot's of BLUES and R&B!!! Over the years we've hosted a number of different acts please check our Archive Page for a look at who we've had and if you have an artist that you'd like to share with us please by all means contact us we'd love to here from youn's!
